There are some forms of healing that go beyond words, beyond talk, beyond anything you can think your way through. Suob is one of them. This is ancestral medicine — passed down through generations of Filipino healers — and one of the most sacred practices I carry.

WHAT IS SUOB: SACRED STEAM CLEANSE RITUAL?
Suob (pronounced SUE-ohb) is a sacred Filipino healing tradition used by various ethnic groups across the Philippines to release negativity — whether physical, mental, or spiritual. Traditionally, a special blend of therapeutic herbs and flowers is boiled and the healing steam is trapped around the entire body beneath a large blanket, enveloping the person in warmth and medicine.
At Kapwa Wellness, I honor this ancient practice while bringing it into a modern healing space. My clients receive the healing steam from the herbs inside a private steam sauna — allowing the medicine to work deeply while you are held in comfort and safety. The ceremony doesn't end when you step out. That's when I continue the ritual.
Physically, the steam supports detoxification, boosts circulation, and nourishes the skin. Spiritually, it clears negative energies, subconscious blocks, and lingering spiritual residue that accumulates over time. Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more themselves — like something heavy has finally been set down.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SESSION
When you arrive we'll spend a few minutes discussing your intentions for the ritual — what you're releasing, what you're calling in, and what your spirit needs most right now.
While you prepare, I craft a personalized herbal blend specifically for your cleanse — chosen with intention for what you're working through. You'll then enter the steam sauna, where the herb-infused steam envelops you as you breathe, relax, and allow the medicine to do its work.
When you step out of the sauna, the ceremony continues. I may incorporate vibrational sounds, shamanic healing, or traditional Filipino prayers and affirmations to complete your spiritual release and help you integrate what has shifted.
Every session is different because every person is different.
The Suob ritual itself is approximately 45 to 50 minutes. Your full session is 90 minutes — allowing time for preparation and intention-setting at the start, and integration at the end.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a robe or
coverup and a towel.
And bring a flower — up to three
if you'd like. Your flower will be added to the herbal mixture,
making this ritual uniquely and personally yours.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
Please notify me at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule. A $25 rescheduling fee may apply. No-shows will be charged the full session fee.
